One of our strengths as a general contractor is our ability to assist you wade through the large number of decisions and selections to make. Integral in this process is a thorough understanding of the environmental impact of each building component, and the associated costs. Green Building does not always have to be more expensive. We can help you calculate up front costs versus payback for higher efficiency components. We can also provide sound advice for using local products versus sustainable products shipped from afar. Our educated advice can help you obtain your dream of a beautiful, energy efficient finished product.

Through education and experience, we provide you with expert counsel regarding the latest building technology. At our office, we have installed photovoltaic panels and solar hot water panels on our roof. We installed these systems to demonstrate our commitment to green building, as well as give you and opportunity to observe the latest technology in action. We are vigilant in attending seminars and reading trade publications in our quest for continuing education. Most importantly, we rely on our strong relationships with the area’s best sub-contractors to implement the latest products and techniques. The sub-contractors we hire are equally in tune with green building practices.

Examples of green building techniques we incorporate into our projects are; Home layout incorporating optimum solar orientation, Energy recovery ventilators (ERV’s) Duct blasting and Blower door testing, Recycling of jobsite waste, Solar electricity and hot water, Minimal disturbance to local vegetation, Insulated concrete forms (ICF’s) LEED, Energy Star, Earth craft certification, Efficient heating and cooling systems, Spray foam insulation, Re-claimed lumber, Low VOC material, Full envelope construction, Quality window and doors, and large roof overhangs. We can incorporate these qualities into a LEED certified home.
